I rose at 6 a.m. Late for true Lanvin for H&M collection fans who stood in front of D.C’s F Street H&M from 9:00 p.m. the night before. I’m just not that girl…and as a result of not being that girl, all that I was able to snag was a Lanvin canvas tote for 4 bucks.
I arrived at H&M expecting to see a line wrapped around the corner, but everyone was inside when I got there at 8:05 a.m. I got to the door and was greeted by a salesman who asked if I wanted to shop the collection. I told him yes and received a teal headband that would allow me to shop from 12:20 p.m. until 12:40 p.m.
It was only 8:15 a.m. and I didn’t want to wait that long. I then gave myself the unofficial title as people watcher of the store. I sneaked as many photos in as I could until I was told twice that I could not take photographs (once on the first floor and once on the second floor).
By 8:30 a.m. the men’s collection was wiped out. By 8:50 customers shopping the women’s collection were taking clothes off of the mannequins to purchase. It was beautiful and sad. Desperate yet necessary.
I wish I could have been apart of that rush but, it was nice watching others in all the glory that is LANVIN!

The collection was completely sold put in D.C. by 10:00 a.m. and reportedly brought in record numbers for H&M. If you were able to purchase anything please send me an email of it or a pic of you in it. Thanks!
The verdict is in Lanvin for H&M’s collection. Verdict: drop dead gorgeous dresses, accessories and shoes. True Euro chic and glamour. Now if you think you can wear any of the Lanvin frocks to a date or out with the girls, pump your breaks. This collection was created for red carpet premiers and A-list gatherings. Check it:
My Loves From the Video/Wish List:
-The silk navy/black one shoulder cocktail dress (shown in the video still) with the huge shoulder details is stadium status! I would pair the dress with skin tight thigh high platform boots.
-I love the showcasing of how the mustard yellow one shoulder ruffle dress is age appropriate from 20 to 70-year-olds. Grandma was working it wasn’t she?
-The leopard print kitten heels with the silk tie around at the top.
-Got a small glimpse of a black taffeta peplum dress with exaggerated shoulders. So dark and romantic…preparing to clip someone up in the store for that piece.
-Are those Lanvin for H&M shoes that we see? I live!
-Question: How many confrontation swill I get into for the floral print dresses with the floral handbags? I’m ready like Alicia Keyyyyysss.
-The ruffled black dress with the elastic waist. Ovah.

Sunglass Hut is sponsoring the opportunity of a lifetime and I want to be a part of it. They are holding a contest to find a Fulltime Fabulous Fashion Blogger who will be compensated $100,000 for a year, given a fully furnished apartment at the W The Residences for a year and VIP passes to fashion shows in Milan, New York and London!
Whoa. I found out about this contest when reading October’s Harper’s Bazaar and was glad that I me t the requirements. How exciting and specific….an opportunity to return to NYC (I left during the recession two years ago) and to fulfill my passion-blogging and get a paycheck for it.
I got discouraged when I thought about the millions of Harper’s Bazaar magazines with this very ad circulating in them. I could visualize bloggers all over the nation getting excited about this opportunity…calling up there girlfriends for support and getting ready to shoot a 60 second video that all entrants had to complete by midnight last night. After thinking about this the insecure part of me said “Is this even attainable?” and “Will you be able to gather the support that you really need?”.
I was not sure about my response for either question but I knew that I should try. Besides, fashion has never turned it’s back on me…well at least until recently when handbag prices decided to soar (besides Alexander Wang and Rebecca Minkoff, what happened to nice $800 bags for a nice hard working girl?). But anyway, through it all I know that I’m passionate about my blogging and that I have a special voice that needs to be heard. A voice from a young women who loves high fashion but can’t afford it all. A voice from someone that stomach drops when she sees Laquan Smith dresses and Brian Atwood pumps. Someone who needs fashion to express themselves on the daily.
My good friend Kendall came with his MAC laptop and he used his built-in camera to record me. I put up my wardrobe rack that I use for photo shoots and hung clothes on them. This was my set. We probably did about 7 takes before we got the right one. I wanted my video to not be perfectly staged, rehearsed or obnoxious. I want America to see how I really am, not just my representative.
Here’s my video. You can vote one entry per email on the bottom right corner.
Yup. That’s silly old me in that video. Vote for me to be Sunglasses Hut’s Full Time Fashion Blogger! Tell your kids, tell your wives and tell your husbands because I think I’m fit for the job! I’ll keep you posted on any and all updates. 😉

For those of you who missed the Rachel Zoe season premier last Tuesday at 10:00 pm on Bravo boy do I have the T for you hunnie.
The show begins with a staff meeting discussing the alleged rumors stating that Taylor left Rachel in an attempt to style on her own. That’s what we thought when we broke the story last November but it was a half truth.
Rodger, Zoe’s husband openly expressed to the staff the real reason for her parting ways…she was embezzling funds. Talking about biting the hand that feeds you! Rachel was very dramatic (like always) and heartbroken.
In Episode 2, Rachel and Brad meet at Fred Segal to in hopes to reinvent themselves and leave all memories of Taylor behind.

Remember the naked Love Mag cover of Lara Stone? Well, she isn’t the only model getting nakey nakey eggs and bakey for the magazine. The eight covers features eight model in the same pose. The featured models are Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Daria Werbowy, Janeil Williams, Natalia Vodianova, Kristen McMenamy, and Ameber Valetta. Lots of fashion veterans mixed with the new supermodels.
Love editor Katie Grand denies using naked models to sell and grab attention:
For this issue of LOVE, we took eight women who are generally acknowledged as the most beautiful in the world, got them to show off their bodies — widely regarded as the most perfect in the world — and photographed them all in exactly the same position for the cover,” LOVE’s editor-in-chief Katie Grand told VOGUE.COM. “We did this to show how much they differed physically from one another, which is why we also printed their measurements.
Whatever you say Katie. The issue drops next Monday on February 8th.

I’m so confused and left with lots of questions (raises hand like I’m in elementary school). Singer Diana Ross and Steve Madden are collaborating on sneakers. Not a pump or a platform but sneakers. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any weirder, I find out that the shoes will retail at Foot Locker’s nationwide. Stay tuned for more info on this.
